World Renewable Energy Asia Conference and the fifth international building & environment sustainable development conference held in Chongqing, more than 200 experts and scholars from more than 20 countries and regions, such as the United States, Britain, Japan, Portugal and China participated. They discussed about six topics including sustainable environmental design, building energy saving, low-carbon technologies, indoor air pollution prevention and control.

 Deputy Director of the Municipal People's Congress, Wang Honghua said, Chongqing has invested 20 billion for environmental protection during the Eleventh Five-Year period. Chongqing would start the construction of a number of green buildings next year and enhance the practice of sustainable development. The direct benefit to the people to implement green buildings was to save the water, electricity and gas cost, while enjoying more comfortable indoor environment. It would greatly reduce the energy consumption for the whole society.
