Green building will realize perfect combination of human and nature relying on human feeling. As one chief participant writing Beijing Municipal Green Building Design Standard, Zeng Jie, vice president of China Academy of Building Research Architectural Design Institute, described for the reporter: “as you ride a bike home from work along the road where there are full-bodied trees, after the rain, the pavement is neither too damp nor too dry; the clear breeze blows gently in the community, very pleasantly; all green plants are planted where natural light could shine.”

 From next year, Beijing newly-built and reorganized and expanded buildings will be designed according to green building standard. Green building refers to the building which saves energy, land, water and materials furthest in life cycle, protects environment and reduces pollution, offers people the healthy, applicable and efficient used space as well as coexists with nature harmoniously.

 It was measured and estimated by the expert writing Standard that too much construction and installation cost need not be increased to reach the expected effect. Even if the construction and installation cost is increased, the cost will be offset by the energy-saving effect generated after the construction design is used, which can be saved in 3 to 5 years. Zeng Yu, deputy director of Building Design Office of China Academy of Building Research Architectural Design Institute, said that cost of green building shall be considered according to life cycle of building, “we don’t advocate using high technology blindly but suggest using the passive technology with less energy consumption, no energy consumption, natural ventilation and natural lighting, appropriate technology and mature technology, in this way, construction cost can be reduced, and mature technology can obtain the same effect as high technology as well.”

  Zeng Jie said that after compilation of Standard was finished, plan would be carried out as compulsive local standard, of which, some compulsive articles may be carried out first. According to the job schedule at present, this Standard will be issued in the first half year of the next year. It is introduced by the relevant principals of Beijing Municipal Commission of Urban Planning and Beijing Municipal Survey Design and Mapping Management Office that our country has published Green Building Design Standard and examined and approved Green Design Specifications on Civil Architecture at present. In order to coordinate with national standard according to local conditions, formulation and implementation of Beijing Municipal Green Building Design Standard need to be boosted.

 After Standard was published, the projects including newly-built projects, rebuilt projects and extended projects shall be carried out according to Standard, and shall make green and energy-saving detailed control planning. It is known that six indicators need to be balanced in green building, including land conservation and outdoor environment, energy conservation and energy use, water conservation and water resources utilization, materials conservation and material resources utilization, indoor environment quality and operations management.
