Since China has accessed to WTO for ten years, the turnover of China’s having contracted foreign projects had increased by more than 10 times, and average annual growth rate had reached 27.10%, the growth rate of newly-signed contract amount had reached 27.63%, the turnover had reached US 435.6 billion dollars accumulatively, and the amount of contracts signed had reached US 699.4 billion dollars, brilliant achievements having been made.
 
On the occasion of China’s accession to WTO, all circles raced to review the progress in these ten years. From Dec.11, 2001 to Dec.11, 2011, China’s building trade had gone through continuous and rapid development for ten years. At the beginning, facing the fact of accession to WTO, some insiders felt excited and delighted that more new technology, new funds, new management philosophy and new mode will be brought into this industry, while some insiders were anxious what impact the industry would have after our country was opened to the outside world.
 

Nowadays, ten years have passed, influenced by accession to WTO and opening up, the progress China’s building trade has made in such fields as international perspective, personnel training, architectural concept, etc, has come out. Ten years later, China’s building trade is still vigorous and twinkles fresh temperament.
 
Architectural Concept Update

 In the decade, more overseas-funded construction companies entered into Chinese construction market, meanwhile, more and more Chinese construction companies went abroad. In cooperation and competition, traditional building concept of China’s building trade and international building concept have contacted with and impacted each other so that more innovatory building concept and mode could have been around.

 In these years, the concepts of energy saving building, green building, low carbon ecological community and city have been built up and popularized deeply into people’s heart. It is an inevitable change of thinking of resources shortage expectation due to domestic long-term extensive economic construction, and also a choice how regions of developed countries respond to global climate change, maintain ecological environment and follow modern building concept of human living in harmony with nature after experiencing the stage of rapid economic development and knowing the conflict between consumption-oriented social development and ecological environment.

 In the decade, international multinational corporations, such as, Siemens, Nokia, Carrefour, etc, invested in China to build regional headquarters, R&D centers, plants, etc, and some internationally known contractors and consulting corporations brought owners and design builders’ implementation on green and low-carbon building as well as LEED standard, etc, to China. The seminars and summits themed by exchanging, researching and popularizing green building, low-carbon building design concept, construction process, evaluation system, etc, were once flourished everywhere in China, and the insiders, such as, scholars, architects, designers, material deals, government departments, etc, made an positive probe into China’s road to energy conservation, green and low-carbon building.

 In the decade, more and more buildings obtained domestic green building standard certification or international green building standard certification, and green building concept was gradually interiorized. Energy conservation reform of existing buildings has brought actual favorable experience to ordinary people.
